Crisis Services

Our Crisis Response team is available for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, 24/7/365. Trained mental health crisis responders are mobile – they can come to your home or any meeting place you choose – and provide face-to-face crisis services including assessment, intervention, and stabilization. Examples of mental health crises may include feeling suicidal, depression, seeing or hearing things that may not be there, flashbacks, anxiety or panic, or any other mental health crisis.

Crisis Stabilization Unit

NWMHC’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a two-bed unit located within our Northwestern Apartments location. The unit provides short-term crisis stabilization services to adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This limited but intensive service is provided after a voluntary client is assessed by a trained mental health crisis responder and found appropriate for Crisis Stabilization Unit placement. Clients receive crisis stabilization and intervention services including coping skills education, brief counseling, supportive services, and links to community resources including case-management, psychotherapy and psychiatry.

Crisis services are available 24/7 and can be accessed by calling the Support & Crisis Helpline at 1.800.282.5005.
